History of Dr Bach and Mount
Vernon
I am delighted to be able to contribute to the Conference at Cromer in celebration of
Dr Bach on his 120th birthday weekend! I will be talking about
Dr Bach's life in Sotwell, his final resting place. I hope to bring to the Conference an understanding of the time spent in the village. This will include The Wellsprings where he often worked, and, most of all, a feel for the heart and soul of Mount Vernon, his home, which was established as the Bach Centre in 1936 to be a living monument in honour and continuance of the blessing that the simplicity and completeness of his work brought to the world.
The Bach flower remedies have been part of my life since I was about 7 years old and was given my first Bach flower treatment. When I was 20 I followed a nursing career, and trained as a general nurse, midwife and health visitor, but then in 1985 I was invited to join my father and my aunt and the team at the Bach Centre, and this is where I have been ever since.
I have written and co-written several books about the way in which the remedies can be used in different circumstances of life
- in particular how they can help women and children in their various developmental stages. More recently, I have undertaken an Honours Degree in Complementary Therapies, taking me into world of research which has been enormously interesting and compelling.
