Bach flower dances
It was in the early 1980s that Anastasia Geng first started to associate the energy of the Bach Flower Remedies to the traditional dances of her native Latvia. In Baltic countries people dance and sing to honour plants and trees: it seemed quite obvious to draw upon this existing folklore to illustrate the healing energy of the flowers. I learned these dances over a series of week-ends in Switzerland and Germany and then organised teacher training with Anastasia.
Sharing these dances with many groups has allowed them to develop and evolve into a full repertoire of physical and emotional states which deepen an awareness of the Bach remedies. We will be demonstrating them on stage and, hopefully, people will join in the experience. The symbolism of the movement is a key to understanding the effect of the dance and therefore the flower.
It is in the action that you may experience and understand just how wonderful these dances are. Nice to watch but much more fun to do! We hope that there will opportunities to dance outside on the pier on Saturday late afternoon. It will depend mostly upon the weather. There is also the possibility of organising dance workshops for Thursday, Friday or Monday outside the Conference time. If you are interested in taking part in a workshop with Martine then please
