The challenge of our time

Flower essences help us meet the challenges of our time, primarily fear and despair. It's amazing how many of Bach's remedies deal with variations of these two themes. I will draw the parallel between Dr Bach's time and ours (now and upcoming), with war, flu pandemic, the rise of Fascism/Corporate Globalisation, economic upheaval and so on. The emphasis will be on what we can learn from Dr Bach's life and work and from the flower essences themselves, to cultivate the courage and hope which are antidotes for the fear and despair that enslave modern souls. Bach was a champion of spiritual independence, and we can learn from him how to cultivate inner strength, clarity and compassion. As part of this discussion, I thought to tell a bit of my own story of how Bach's message inspired me 30 years ago, for personal healing, as a calling, and as a response to the challenges at the turning of the millennium.

Richard Katz began working with flower essences in the mid 1970s, when Dr Bach's work was just beginning to be known in the United States. He is the founder of the Flower Essence Society of California. Although his main focus of work has been the development of Californian flower essences Richard has always retained a close link to Dr Bach, his aims and philosophy. He is an inspirational leader in the international flower essence movement.
